I have recently gotten hooked on Forza Motorsports 3. Our friends at Turn 10 & Microsoft Game Studios have really hit a homerun with the sequel to my favorite racing sim on the 360. I was pretty addicted to FM2, and painted a bunch of cars, so when I saw how much they’ve expanded and improved Forza Motorsports3 to suit decal painters, I was instantly drawn in. The first thing I had to do was make a Robot Entertainment logo! READ MORE
A few weeks back, I attended Austin Game Developer's Conference. I enjoy going to these conferences, learning from others and getting a sense of what changes are afoot in our industry. Any given talk may be hit or miss but there are always a few gems of information to be found in almost any presentation. READ MORE
I’m blown away by the participation from the artists for the G.I. Joe theme this last month. The artists really, really stepped up for that one. We got multiple artists participating for the first time on the blog, and Paul did 2 posts! That’s crazy! I had every intention to just post a past illustration I did a couple months back when the movie was coming out in the summer. Now it seems weak, but I still will. READ MORE
Hey all! I did a quickie speedpainting this morning to add to the already sweet G.I. Joe artwork that the other guys have posted. I'm not that familiar with the G.I. Joe world, but I do know Snake Eyes. So I did my version of what Snake Eyes might look like in a futuristic Sci-Fi world. I hope you guys dig it! -b

Even though I’m more of a Transformers and He-man fan, the GI Joe theme seemed like fun. It took me a good while to actually decide what to create. When I stumbled upon a drawing app for my iPhone, Autodesk Sketchbook Mobile, I thought it would be a fun challenge to create my entry entirely on my phone. I’ve always been a fan of the Bruce Timm style Batman and Justice League cartoons, so what I create would attempt to put a GI Joe character into that style. Lastly, I needed a character with some color so Scarlett fit the bill. READ MORE
Hey everyone! I've always been a big fan of GIJoe and I had a huge collection of toys as a kid, so when we decided on the theme, I was really excited. One of my favorite comic book artists is J Scott Campbell known for his Danger Girl and Wildsiders comics. He's drawn the Baroness for GiJoe comics before and I've always wanted to model a character in his style so I thought this would be the perfect opportunity. I started with a simple base mesh that I tried to match to one of his drawings from Danger Girl, just to get the proportions correct. Her face and legs went through a lot of revisions before I finally got a look that I was ha ... READ MORE
Hello again! Didn't think I'd be posting again so soon, but some of the other artists wanted a little more time to tie off their stuff, so here I go again. I actually wasn't going to do another post for this topic since I had already done the Skyhawk, but Moffitt finally got me to start using a new software package for modeling called ZBrush. I started out with just a basic sphere and started sculpting over our lunch times just trying to get a feel for the program. I was having a blast with this new program and had come up with my first head sculpt. READ MORE
